DSCI is seeking a senior VMWare Engineer for our VIATECH, Inc. Team in Eatontown, NJ
Technical Requirements: The Senior VMWare Engineer will be required to manage and serve as a senior team member on our architecture team maintaining multiple ESX hosts and guest servers, and will be an integral part in the migration of hundreds of servers into the VMWare infrastructure. The candidate must possess well developed customer service and communication skills.
Must have the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively. Candidates need VCP certification or very strong VMware experience in a large VMware environment, with knowledge of VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3.0X and 3.5 and introductory knowledge of vSphere v4.
Candidates need enterprise virtualization skills and experience with server migrations, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrading, patching, and scripting.
MS Windows 2000 and 2003 Server needed with UNIX background a plus. Strong process and procedural documentation and writing skills required.
Experience with EMC SAN storage, HP EVA SAN Storage, Netapp storage desired but not required.
US Citizenship and Bachelor`s Degree with 10 years experience Req`d. Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
Description of Responsibilities:
Installs OS and subsystem software to prepare a platform for business systems use. Integrates business systems with other hardware and software components to ensure proper systems functionality.
Design of high quality application architectures that meet customer`s requirements and are consistent with enterprise architectural standards.
Collaborate with business teams to understand IT requirements.
Monitors environment to ensure integrity, reliability, and performance.
Perform impact and system analysis based on business requirements.
Develop testing architecture and technology validation strategies.
Work with other technical teams to ensure coordination and integration of all IT projects.
Collaborate with other technical teams to:
exchange technical knowledge,
develop architecture standards,
translate business requirements into application architecture,
communicate technical constraints,
leverage existing solutions and services to meet project goals,
increased re-use and reduced redundancy in applications and technology designs,
provide architectural oversight during design, build, test and deploy phases of projects,
ensure diverse technical toolset function effectively together,
support the definition and selection of enterprise tools, technologies and processes.
